ABOUT GRACE & STEEL STUDIO

Grace & Steel Studio offers interior design and decoration services in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Led by Laura Diffenderfer, the studio emerged from a fascination with making everyday life more artful.

Good art and design are more than beauty and simplicity combined. A home that truly reflects your life and your spirit should revive you. It should make the hard parts of life just a little softer, the crazy parts more fun, and the good times transcendent.

Let’s create a home that is warm, distinct, and artful together.

Sunlit kitchen with wooden cabinets, marble countertop, brass faucet, and a large window. Decorative items include a potted plant, framed bunny art, glassware, and a tray with orange slices.
Bright living room with large windows, cream armchairs, wooden side tables, and decorative objects including a teapot, bowls, and pillows with embroidered designs.
Cozy bedroom with a bed, framed sports photos on the wall, a side table with a glass of red wine, a framed watercolor art piece, and a lit hanging lamp with a scarf tied to its cord.
HOW IT WORKS

As an artist and curator who has turned her eye toward the most important site of transformation: the home, the Grace & Steel process is unique and highly tailored to each job.

When you decide to begin, we will embark on a creative process together, beginning with an introductory call, and resulting in a home that inspires, nurtures, and is distinctly yours.

ABOUT LAURA

Founder Laura Diffenderfer brings her unique perspective and aesthetic to interiors. Developed alongside a career as an artist , creative producer, and marketer working with top dance artists, Laura’s work in design is an extension of her lifelong passion for the creative process.

In her interiors, personality, taste, utility, and place collide in surprising and wondrous ways, resulting in a one-of-a-kind home that is both functional and beautiful—and a distinct expression of those who live in it.

“I’d like to make your home feel so warm and uniquely you, that on those days when you might have forgotten yourself—even just a little—you come home and are reminded of who you really are.”
